History--16th century
Henry VIII, King of England, 1491-1547
Description
As someone fascinated by King Henry VIII and his wives, I had to witness Hampton Court for myself. It was strange to see all six of his wives represented in the architecture throughout the buildings, whether it was a carved pomegranate that was missed in the removal of symbols after his divorce from Catherine of Aragon, the gold ceiling he had painted in honor of Jane Seymour, or the tribute to his final wife, Katharine Parr, on the walls of the room where they were married. It's a rare building that reflects the history that occurred within its walls.
